PROJECT

Description

Ma'aden (Saudi Arabian Mining Co. - maaden.com.sa) commissioned the Canadian based Engineering Company Hatch Pty Ltd (hatch.com) the design and the construction of a gold heap-leach facility in two phases, each consisting of leach pads covering approximately 37 hectares in area.

Solution

Synergy International FZE received the order to erect a 1 Km belt conveyor to convey gold rocks from the mine to the leaching area. Rulli Rulmeca SpA provided assistance for the selection of all the components of its range required for this new belt conveyor.

Benefit

  • Reduced power consumption due to smooth rollers. The absorbed power to run the conveyor is 60kw, while a similar exisiting conveyor (same length, same load capacity) made by a competior with other branded rollers is absorbing 90kW
  • Belt mis-Alignment in +/-2 mm, due to self aligning with brake
  • No stoppage for roller replacement, due to no failures of rollers having triple sealing system
  • No time lost for cleaning as no spillages in 1km due to no mis-alignment
  • No spillage at transfer point, due to chute design, impact bars and 100% sealing side skirts
  • Reduced belt wear due to chute design, impact bars, best quality rollers
  • No dust emisión at transfer point due to chute design, impact bars and 100% sealing side skirts
