Overview

Rulmeca Germany, together with the customer MIBRAG, has developed a concept of how energy efficiency can be increased by using a drum motor and noise emissions can be reduced.

For the upgrading of the bucket wheel excavator SRS703 in the United Scheenhain opencast mine, Rulmeca Germany, together with the customer MIBRAG, has developed a concept of how energy efficiency can be increased by using a drum motor and noise emissions can be reduced.

Investigation of the changed load situation in relation to the structural safety:

  • New starting and braking conditions
  • Influence of the changed influencing factors on stability and stability
  • Constructive effort (adaptation of the relocation)
  • Drum shell (ceramic).

Solution

Rulmeca has technically designed a drum motor with the following performance data:

  • Type MP1000H
  • Power: 160kW
  • Belt width : 1600 mm
  • Belt speed 4.5 m/s
  • Lagging: full ceramic STS4000
  • Location open cast mine Schleenhain bucket wheel excuvator SRS703

In cooperation between sales, technical department and product management Rulmeca Germany was developing the Motorized Pulley solution in close cooperation with the engineers of MIBRAG. The comparison with that under comparable conditions of First measurements determined a sound pressure level of 63.6 dB (A) compared to Measurement after conversion to drum motor of 58.5 dB (A), each in at a distance of 33m, there is a reduction of 5.1 dB when running alone Loading belt. With the conversion the radiated sound power, subjectively, reduced by around two thirds. The comparison of the electrical measured values shows that the Drum motor energy saving potential compared to the conventional drive available. More precise statements must be substantiated by further measurements become.

Benefits

Data of sound pressure level: before reconstruction: location 1 86,6 dB(A) location 2 85,3 dB(A) location 3 82,3 dB(A) after reconstruction location 1 79,8 dB(A) location 2 77,0 dB(A) location 3 81,6 dB(A).
