Motorized Pulleys 500H, Ø 500 mm

Motorized pulleys 500H are designed to meet the most demanding requirements inside the bulk handling conveyor market. They are specifically engineered for applications where belt conveyors require exceptionally large pulley diameters to ensure efficient and reliable power transmission. These pulleys are widely used in industries such as grain storage, cement production, steel processing, fertilizer handling, heavy mobile crushing & screening equipment.

Each of these industries operates under extreme conditions — including high dust levels, variable loads, and continuous operation — demanding equipment that can withstand mechanical stress without sacrificing performance. The robust construction and high torque capacity of Rulmeca 500H model make it ideally suited for handling heavy loads and performing reliably in harsh working environments.

It is crucial to accurately calculate the belt tension (T1+T2) to determine the required torque and power to move the conveyor efficiently and to ensure optimal performance. If the estimated belt tension exceeds the maximum permissible radial load or if thick, heavy or large belts are used – resulting in higher belt tension - Rulmeca offers alternative series of motorized pulleys. Every conveyor system must be equipped with the appropriate pulley to maintain safe and reliable operation.

H means Heavy-duty motorized pulleys

500H model is designed to withstand the heaviest application demands: its mechanical strength and durability define the entire construction of this pulley. Its internal components - including the gearbox and the matching bearings - are extremely strong and designed to operate efficiently even under irregular, tough and extreme conditions. This heavy-duty construction ensures continuous, trouble-free service even in harsh environments where conventional drive systems may fail.

Consequently, this model can combine high mechanical efficiency, minimal maintenance, and superior environmental protection in a single sealed unit which is a powerful, space-saving, and reliable solution for the most challenging bulk-handling applications across multiple industries.

Main features

Integrated and compact construction of 500H motorized pulleys

Since all drive components – motor, gearbox and bearings- are integrated within the pulley shelf, this compact design replaces traditional setups that require external components and additional equipment. It is able to save valuable installation space while simplifying the assembly process as there are no additional elements to mount or protect, making the installation phase faster, simpler and cleaner. By minimizing the overall footprint, these pulleys make conveyor setup more streamlined and adaptable to environments where space constraints are critical.

Equal weight distribution along the entire structure

The integrated structure which characterizes the motorized pulley provides a perfectly balanced organization of the components in terms of weight and forces distribution along the pulley’s axis: this feature minimizes the potential alignment issues. Clearly, a balanced structure prevents excessive radial load on the single components minimizing vibration and mechanical stress: over time, this leads to a noticeable increase in system longevity and a reduction in maintenance costs.

Enhanced durability and resistance against harsh environments

The components of the all-in-one product are made from high-grade materials and designed to resist contamination from dirt, dust, water, corrosion, and abrasion. The fully sealed and permanently lubricated unit requires no external maintenance and ensures continuous protection of internal components against contaminants, even in extremely wet environments.
