Description

Automha for Soavegel: automation at the service of frozen. At Soavegel, the new automatic system supplied by Automha is tailor-made to the current and, above all, future needs of the company. SRM, shuttles, handling area. anthropomorphic robot, management software: different technologies that work together with a single goal. Increase performance and storage capacity, lowering consumption and enhancing safety. Soavegel, lead by the Bianco family, is a company founded in 1935 and active today in the production and marketing of high gastronomy specialties with its own brand for organized Large Distribution and the Ho.re.ca (Hotellerie-Restaurant-Café) channel. The production and freezing activities are managed in the Francavilla Fontana (Brindisi) plant, a total of 30,000 square meters equipped with the most modern and innovative technological structures. Soavegel boasts the strictest production standards in the food industry and has a storage capacity of 4,000 fully automated and computerized low-temperature pallet spaces. The commercial and logistics organization allows a penetration of the markets and a distribution throughout the national and foreign territory, positioning Soavegel among the largest companies in the sector. Automha is active in the design, production and installation of automatic warehouses, designed to optimize and improve work organization within distribution centers and production plants around the world. Among the records of the company based in Azzano San Paolo (Bergamo) in the field of intralogistics, there is the creation of fully automatic systems able to perform and maintain efficient performance at temperatures between +55° and -30° C, ideal for warehouses and cold rooms, as in the case of the Soavegel plant.

Solution

In the area before the cold room the carousel of roller conveyors that deal with the handling of pallets is allocated, compared by Emanuele Balestra, director of the technical office of Soavegel, to a roundabout responsible for sorting the traffic of pallets in and out of the warehouse. The main ring then acts as a circuit and link between the following sectors: - Pallets entrance and exit of the SRM - pallets entrance and exit of the AutosatMover area - Pallets entrance and exit on loading ramp 1 - Pallets entrance and exit on loading ramp 2 and 3 - Robot zone (automatic picking - layer management) - Area of manual picking bays. In this area the following machines are allocated: wrapping machine, labeling machine, shape controls, weight control, pallet dispenser Soavegel's new plant in numbers: - Volume of the cold room -25° C: 1,250 square meters of storage - Pallet spaces: 4,000 (managed min. 800mm max. 2,200mm, max weight 1,000 Kg) - Height levels: 6 - Allocation channels: about 900 - Organization of spaces: 2 sub-warehouses with about 2,000 pallet spaces each (SRM block and AutosatMover block) and area before the cold room 15° C for preparation of goods 420 square meters

Benefit

Automation offers absolute advantages in terms of speed, safety and process control. This is why the work of designing and engineering flows managed with Automha was fundamental.
