Motorized Pulleys 320L, 320M & 320H, Ø320 m

In order to match specific project requirements of bulk applications, Rulmeca product range includes three types of motorized pulleys in diameter 320mm having different loading performances:

• L for Light-duty
• M for Medium-duty
• H for Heavy-duty

Torque and power of these items vary and must be carefully matched to the belt tension, calculated as T1+T2. It is essential that this value – which represents the total load transmitted through the belt - does not exceed the maximum allowable radial load for the selected ensuring safe and reliable operation without the risk of premature wear or reduced efficiency.

Particular attention should be given when using multiply thick, heavy or large belts as these may require higher tension demands to operate effectively. If none of the 320 mm diameter pulleys meet the project requirements, Rulmeca also offers larger diameter motorized pulleys capable of providing higher torque and supporting greater radial loads, ensuring the right fit for demanding applications.

Differences among the three models

L for Light-duty

The motor and gearbox inside the 320L model are derived from the smaller diameter 220M model, providing a compact and efficient solution. These products are meant for applications operating under regular conditions, where loading and speed remain stable. They are commonly used in mobile and cross- belt conveyors for crushing and screening, but are not recommended for feed conveyors and extractors, where belt tension can fluctuate significantly.

As noted above, the maximum allowable radial load must always be respected. It is advisable to cover these pulleys with rubber to increase grip and help limit belt tension, improving overall system efficiency, as this coating helps minimize stress on the components.

M for Medium-duty

While belt tension must always be calculated carefully, the 320M version is designed to support a higher maximum radial load compared to the light-duty version. Its components are built to withstand the tough and irregular working conditions typical of crushing and screening applications, as well as asphalt, cement and concrete plants. These pulleys provide enhanced durability and performance in more demanding environments, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial bulk handling applications.

H for Heavy-duty

Heavy-duty 320H motorized pulleys are engineered to handle heavy and irregular loads in extreme conditions. They provide the power required for applications that demand low speeds combined with high torque. These pulleys are ideal for the most challenging environments such as mining, recycling, and heavy construction sectors, where reliability under harsh conditions is critical.
