Rulmeca operates a Service centre fully dedicated to the repair and assembly of Motorized Pulleys
Rulmeca offers a range of motorized pulleys used to drive conveyor belts and other material handling systems, with two different load capacities designed for bulk handling applications:
It is important to understand the differences between the various types of motorized pulleys in order to select the most suitable solution for your specific application. In particular, the estimated belt tension (radial load), T1+T2, must be lower than the maximum allowable radial load. Keep in mind that using thick, heavy or large belts can lead to increased values. If the proper belt tension cannot be achieved with the selected diameter, a larger pulley diameter must be chosen.
The 220M and 220H models offer compact, durable, and low-maintenance drive solutions for a variety of medium to heavy-duty industrial requirements. Both feature robust gearbox systems housed in a compact carbon steel shell with an enclosure class of IP66/67 for protection against dust and water.
220M – Medium-duty
The internal components of the 220M version are designed to perform reliably under harsh operating conditions where consistent performance is essential.
Equipped with a 2-stage cast aluminium gearbox and machined helical gears, this model includes standard thermal protection switches and is available with a stainless-steel exterior for corrosive or high-pressure washdown environments. It is also available with a thick-wall shell option for positive drive belts or non-belt applications.
220H – High-duty
Equipped with a reinforced 3-stage cast iron gearbox, the 220H version is engineered to operate with the necessary strength at low speeds, deliver high torque and meet demanding belt tension requirements.
It features machined helical gears for enhanced performance in slow-speed and high-torque conditions. The model includes thermal protection switches and is available with a stainless-steel exterior for corrosive applications, as well as a thick-wall shell option for positive drive belts or non-belt applications.
These motorized pulleys are designed to deliver reliable and efficient performance in demanding operating conditions, where durability and consistency are essential.
These products offer a wide range of benefits: their integrated design eliminates the need for external components, resulting in a compact, all-in-one unit that allows for quick and easy installation, reducing setup time.
In addition, they are characterized by low power consumption compared to traditional systems, enabling energy savings. Safety is also a key advantage: all moving and potentially hazardous components — such as motors and gearboxes — are sealed inside the shell, significantly reducing the risk of injury. These units can also be considered eco-friendly conveyor solutions, reducing energy consumption and environmental impact thanks to fewer components requiring replacement. This results in both cost savings and sustainability benefits, helping companies meet internal environmental targets and comply with stricter regulations. By choosing the right model for your sector, you ensure optimal performance, longer equipment lifespan, and minimized downtime.

Plus
Models 220H and 220M are designed with the drive unit, bearings and gearbox integrated directly inside the shell. This compact solution occupies significantly less space compared to conventional external drives, making it perfect for installations where space is limited. With no need for additional housings these items are lighter, easier to handle, and faster to install.
Since the motor, bearings and gearbox are enclosed within the pulley shell, the weight is evenly distributed across the conveyor structure. This balanced design eliminates the need for external large and bulky components, reducing both installation complexity and maintenance costs.
Unlike conventional and traditional conveyor drives, that are exposed to environmental stress, Rulmeca motorized pulleys are completely sealed inside a robust steel cylindrical shell. This structure protects critical internal parts- the motor, gearbox and bearings - from dust, moisture, abrasive or corrosive materials and extreme temperatures, enhancing higher resistance, durability and an extended component lifespan.
