KRO Series: Roller Precision and Durability for Curve Roller Conveyors

The KRO series is characterized by precision, durability, and efficiency in material-handling systems. With their tapered shape and idle configuration, these rollers guide and support unit loads along curved sections and corners of roller conveyors. KRO rollers play a crucial role in maintaining stability and fluid movement on curved conveyor paths: their design ensures that items move safely and consistently through corners, even in tight bends, slopes, or slightly inclined sections. In addition, their advanced design and versatile material options allow installation in conveyors with different slope grades and environmental conditions. They deliver excellent performance in light and medium-duty applications across a wide range of industrial settings.

Components and Functional Benefits

KRO rollers are composed of grey polypropylene tapered sleeves mounted on Rulmeca roller series 117 and 135, featuring 50 mm diameter hot-dip zinc-plated steel tubes in “Z” execution. This robust construction ensures excellent strength and dimensional stability. For demanding environments, the KRO series can be supplied with AISI 440 stainless steel bearings, AISI 304 stainless steel shafts, and stainless steel internal tubes. This combination of materials provides high corrosion resistance, making the rollers suitable for efficient, long-lasting performance on curved conveyor sections exposed to humidity.

The use of precision ball bearings paired with polypropylene external body provides smooth running and low noise emission, allowing for a more pleasant and productive workspace. Polypropylene, as the primary material of KRO body, offers several advantages: thank to its lightweight it favours easy installation. Furthermore, this material is well known for providing exceptional strength and for being resistant to abrasion and impact. It maintains its excellence performance across a wide temperature range from 0° C to +50° C. Another important benefit of polypropylene is its resistance to water, dirt, and chemical agents, feature that makes KRO rollers a perfect fit for humid or mildly corrosive environments. This includes applications in the food and beverage industry, packaging, and light manufacturing, where hygiene and cleanliness are essential.

The carefully engineered design of each component of KRO Series allows for efficient and long-lasting performance and at the same time ensures quiet, vibration-free operation.

Main features

Suitable for light and medium loads

Curve roller conveyors equipped with KRO rollers are the perfect solution for handling light and medium unit loads, such as boxes and small pallets. They are suitable for both standard industrial environments and humid areas, such as food processing and beverage packaging. These rollers provide the strength and durability required to handle multiple load dynamics without compromising performance.

Smooth and silent operation for curve roller conveyors

The combination of high-precision ball bearings with a tapered polypropylene body ensures smooth running and minimal noise. This not only reduces confusion inside the workplace but also improves efficiency, creating a more pleasant, healthier and productive environment. The tapered shape is obtained by fitting ribbed, truncated cone-shaped polypropylene sleeves onto the roller shell, ensuring smooth and reliable item transfer along curved conveyor paths.

Based on Rulmeca Roller technology: 117 and 135 series

The KRO series is based on the 117 and 135 roller series, sharing their key technical features and high-quality standards. Available with PVC or AISI 304 stainless steel tubes, combined with stainless steel bearings and shafts, they provide excellent resistance to humidity and corrosion. This makes them particularly suitable for installations requiring strict hygiene standards as food-related applications.
