Motorized Pulley 800M, 800H & 800HD

Rulmeca offers a range of motorized pulleys designed to provide reliable, compact, and low-maintenance drive solutions for demanding bulk handling applications. The range includes multiple configurations to match different load requirements:

  • 800M / 800H
  • 800HD

Selecting the correct model requires careful evaluation of the estimated belt tension (radial load), calculated as T1+T2. For safe and efficient operation, the actual radial load must always remain below the maximum allowable limit. Special attention should be given when using thick, heavy or wide belts, as they can significantly increase belt tension. If the required performance cannot be achieved, a different configuration should be selected to ensure reliability and prevent system failure. All models feature a robust gearbox system housed in a carbon steel shell with an enclosure class of IP66/67, ensuring high protection against dust and water.

Differences between the models

M for Medium-duty

The 800M model is equipped with a 2-stage cast iron gearbox with machined helical gears and is based on the proven 630H drivetrain. It includes thermal protection switches and temperature monitoring (RTD) devices, with optional features such as vibration sensors, proximity switches, and special terminal boxes. For corrosive environments, it can be supplied with a stainless-steel shell and epoxy-coated end housings.

H for High-duty

The 800H version features a reinforced 2-stage cast iron gearbox with machined helical gears, offering increased strength and performance compared to the 800M. It includes standard thermal protection and temperature monitoring, along with optional accessories such as vibration sensors, proximity switches, and customized terminal boxes. It is also available with a stainless-steel shell and protective coatings for corrosive environments.

HD for Extra heavy-duty

Equipped with a reinforced 3-stage cast iron gearbox and machined helical gears, the 800HD model is designed to deliver maximum torque and performance in the most demanding conditions. Like the other versions, it includes thermal protection and temperature monitoring systems, with optional advanced features and corrosion-resistant configurations available on request. These motorized pulleys are engineered for heavy-duty operation, providing the necessary torque, belt pull and allowable belt tension to handle the toughest, most irregular and extreme working conditions with reliability and consistency.

All models are designed to perform reliably in harsh operating environments. Their integrated design reduces the need for external components, simplifying installation and minimizing maintenance requirements. In addition, motorized pulleys offer improved energy efficiency compared to traditional drive systems. Their fully sealed construction protects internal components, extends service life, and enhances safety by enclosing all moving parts within the pulley shell. This results in a compact, durable and efficient solution that ensures long-term performance and reduced downtime.

Main features

Compact and integrated design

All drive components — including the motor, gearbox, and bearings — are fully integrated within the pulley shell. This compact, all-in-one design replaces traditional systems that require external components and additional equipment. As a result, installation is faster, simpler, and more efficient, with no need for extra assembly or protective structures. The reduced footprint also makes these solutions ideal for applications where space is limited.

Equal weight distribution

The integrated construction ensures a balanced distribution of weight and forces along the entire pulley axis. This reduces the risk of misalignment and minimizes uneven stress on individual components. By limiting vibration and mechanical strain, the system operates more smoothly and benefits from increased reliability, longer service life, and reduced maintenance requirements over time.

Resistance against external influences

Designed with high-quality materials and a fully sealed structure, these units offer excellent protection against external elements such as dust, water, dirt, corrosion, and abrasion. The permanently lubricated internal components are protected from contamination, ensuring consistent performance even in harsh and demanding environments. This results in improved durability and reduced need for maintenance interventions.
