The 117/HX Silent Idler Roller has been developed to combine quiet operation, reliable performance, and quick installation in conveyor applications. Building on the proven design of the 117 Series, this solution features innovative tapered compressible bushings that ensure a secure, clearance-free connection between the roller and the frame.
Designed to simplify assembly while enhancing stability, the 117/HX roller offers excellent load capacity and long-term durability, making it suitable for a wide range of material handling systems.
The roller is fitted with precision 6002-2RZ radial bearings, permanently lubricated and housed in robust black Polyamide bearing seats. A Polypropylene labyrinth seal provides effective protection against dust and contaminants, helping to ensure long service life and consistent performance.
The tapered bushings are designed to compress on both sides during installation. Their unique truncated-cone geometry with hexagonal profile removes clearance between the roller and the frame, improving stability and reducing vibration during operation.
Thanks to the AF 11 hexagonal interface, the 117/HX roller can be used as a direct alternative to 117/HN and 117/HS executions, offering greater flexibility in conveyor design and maintenance.
For powered conveyor applications, the roller tube can be supplied with grooves for round belts, extending its range of uses beyond standard gravity conveying systems.
The 117/HX roller is suitable for operation in ambient temperatures ranging from -5°C to +80°C. Lower temperatures may be supported following verification of the specific operating conditions.
When ordering, please specify the roller type and execution, shaft size, tube diameter, tube execution, and the required C length.

Double rollers are a type of conveyor component used in material handling systems, consisting of two parallel rollers mounted on a single shaft. This design provides increased load-bearing capacity, enhanced stability, and smooth operation for the movement of materials. Double rollers are commonly employed in applications where higher strength or support is required, such as in heavy-duty conveyors, or for ensuring even distribution of material across the conveyor system. They are especially effective in preventing misalignment, reducing friction, and improving the overall efficiency and longevity of the conveyor system.
Double rollers with PVC-covered rollers are commonly used in material handling systems, particularly in conveyor applications. These rollers consist of two parallel shafts, each mounted with a set of rollers, providing enhanced stability and support for the conveyed materials. The PVC covering on the rollers offers several benefits, including increased durability, improved grip, and reduced friction, making them ideal for handling various types of materials, including lightweight, fragile, or delicate products. The combination of double rollers and PVC covers ensures smooth and reliable operation, even in demanding environments, while minimizing wear and tear on both the rollers and the conveyed materials.
Although not special, information on this design is given. The rough or zinc plated steel tube “N” or “Z and J” rollers with “D” values as per table, can be covered with a soft, elastic and smooth surface (hardness 73 ShA) grey colour (RAL 9006) PVC (Polyvinylchloride) plastic tube, particularly resistant to chemical agents. It is normally used to protect the roller surfaces and mostly to avoid scratching painted, enamelled, smooth, etc. load, and in some cases to increase friction. The PVC lagging is simply fitted on the tube with excellent coupling thanks to elastic tightening. Application temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C.
PVC-covered rollers with round belt transmission are a common solution in material handling systems, offering an efficient method for conveying goods. The PVC-covered rollers are designed to provide smooth, durable surfaces that reduce friction and wear, ideal for handling a variety of materials, especially those requiring gentle handling or increased grip. The round belt transmission works by transmitting power through a flexible, round belt, which runs over these rollers, efficiently driving the conveyor system. This combination ensures quiet, low-maintenance operation, enhanced traction, and reliable performance in light to medium-duty applications, such as in food processing, packaging, and logistics. The system's simplicity and adaptability make it suitable for a wide range of conveyor configurations.

A round belt transmission is a type of mechanical drive system commonly used in material handling applications. It consists of a round, flexible belt that transmits power between pulleys, typically made from materials such as rubber, polyurethane, or elastomeric compounds. Round belts are often employed in conveyors, sorters, and other machinery where smooth and quiet operation is essential. The round profile ensures low friction, high efficiency, and the ability to work in compact spaces. These systems are known for their simplicity, ease of installation, and ability to handle moderate power transmission in light to medium-duty applications.
