Speed controller rollers are the ideal solution for gravity conveyor systems, regulating packages with loads ranging from 80 to 1400 daN at a constant speed. They are essential for handling delicate or heavy packages on long conveyors. Once installed, they require no calibration or adjustment, and thanks to their permanent lubrication, they are completely maintenance free.

Their operation is based on the kinetics energy of the moving packages, that activates internal brakes located at the end of a crown wheel system: the brakes expand by centrifugal force, generating a braking effect which is proportional to the speed and varies according to the load. Packages always start reliably from a standstill, and their movement remains always smooth and regular, even with maximum slope values.

For loads heavier than 800 daN, it is recommended to install the rollers with a pitch equal to the length of the load. For lighter loads, a pitch of up to 1.5 times the load length is acceptable, provided that the conveying speed does not exceed 0.3 m/s.

The ideal application is in pallet handling gravity track systems and for flow-storage installations. Regarding operating conditions, these rollers are designed to be used in environments with wide range of temperatures from -5°C to +50°C. Operation at lower temperatures (down to –20°C) is possible with a consequent reduction in load capacity. Even lower temperatures may be considered upon request.

Made of highly resistant plastic material, the external body is coated with anti-abrasive, toothed synthetic rubber. The supporting frame is made of zinc-plated steel. Each suspension set is supplied complete with fixing pins, springs, and tension rods in the quantities required for each individual speed controller.

Series RV 490

This series differs in application as it functions as a carrying roller with an integrated speed-control mechanism. It can be easily installed in place of a standard roller. The rollers are suitable for unit loads ranging from 80 daN to 1400 daN and are supplied entirely in zinc-plated finish, including brackets and mounting hardware. Please ensure that the conveying speed does not exceed 0.3 m/s.
