Rulmeca operates a Service centre fully dedicated to the repair and assembly of Motorized Pulleys
Rulmeca offers a range of motorized pulleys designed to provide compact, reliable, and low-maintenance drive solutions for demanding bulk handling applications. This range includes three different load capacities to match specific project requirements:
Torque and power vary depending on the model and must be carefully matched to the belt tension calculated as T1+T2. This value represents the total load transmitted through the belt and must not exceed the maximum allowable radial load, ensuring safe and reliable operation without the risk of premature wear or reduced efficiency.
Particular attention should be given when using thick, heavy or large belts, as these may require higher tension. If the selected solution does not meet the project requirements, larger diameter options are available to provide higher torque and support greater radial loads.
All models feature robust gearbox systems housed in a compact carbon steel shell with and enclosure class of IP66/67, ensuring protection against dust and water.
L for Light-duty
The motor and gearbox inside the 320L model are derived from the smaller 220M version, providing a compact and efficient solution for applications operating under regular conditions, where loading and speed remain stable. These pulleys are typically used in mobile and cross-belt conveyors for crushing and screening. However, they are not recommended for applications where belt tension can fluctuate significantly. To improve performance and reduce stress on components, the use of a rubber covering is recommended, as it increases grip and helps limit belt tension.
M for Medium-duty
The 320M version is equipped with a 2-stage cast aluminium gearbox and machined helical gears, designed to support higher loads compared to the light-duty version. Its internal components are built to withstand tough and irregular working conditions, offering enhanced durability and reliable performance in demanding environments such as crushing and screening operations, as well as asphalt, cement and concrete plants.
H for Heavy-duty
Equipped with a 3-stage cast iron gearbox and machined helical gears, the 320H model is engineered to operate at low speeds while delivering high torque and meeting demanding belt tension requirements.
These products offer a wide range of advantages: their integrated design eliminates the need for external components, resulting in a compact, all-in-one solution that simplifies installation and reduces setup time.
In addition, motorized pulleys are characterized by low power consumption compared to traditional drive system, enabling energy savings. Safety is also improved, as all moving and potentially hazardous components, such as motors and gearboxes, are fully enclosed within the shell, reducing the risk of injury. They also contribute to more sustainable material handling by reducing the number of components required, lowering maintenance and minimizing environmental impact.
By selecting the appropriate model, it is possible to achieve optimal performance, extended equipment lifespan and reduced downtime.

Plus
The entire drive system - composed of motor, gearbox and bearing - is enclosed within the pulley shell, creating a space-saving structure and a self-contained design. This compact pulley reduces the overall size of the drive unit by eliminating the need for external elements. It also simplifies installation and maintenance, making it ideal for applications in limited places.
Since the motor, gearbox, and bearings are integrated within the pulley shell, the weight of the motorized pulley is evenly distributed along the conveyor frame. This distribution minimizes stress on individual components and reduces vibration, while improving, at the same time, stability and alignment under heavy loading conditions. The results is lower maintenance requirements and an extended lifespan of the conveyor system.
The sealed steel shell protects and shields the internal components from external factors such as dust, moisture, abrasive materials and chemicals. This shielding enhances the durability and reliability of the motorized pulley, ensuring consistent performance even in harsh industrial environments. By preventing contamination and corrosion, the pulley requires less maintenance over time.
