Rulmeca operates a Service centre fully dedicated to the repair and assembly of Motorized Pulleys
Rulmeca Corporation
An experienced staff, a 30,000 sq ft facility, modern assembly equipment, a global ERP system, and a sustainable component inventory form the operational backbone of Rulmeca Corporation. Together, these elements allow the company to operate with speed, precision, and consistency in responding to customer demands across the United States and Latin America.
This integrated setup enables Rulmeca Corporation to efficiently assemble a wide range of Motorized Pulleys, ensuring compliance with demanding “just-in-time” delivery requirements for local customers. At the same time, it allows the company to provide fast and reliable support for customers requiring quick-ship Motorized Pulleys, helping reduce downtime and maintain continuity in critical material handling operations.
Beyond assembly and logistics, the company’s structured internal systems and inventory management approach also contribute to operational stability. The combination of local resources and global coordination ensures that production and delivery processes remain aligned with customer expectations, even under tight deadlines or fluctuating demand conditions.
In addition, Rulmeca Corporation offers customized “Consigned Inventory Programs” designed to further optimize supply chain efficiency. These programs enable U.S. customers to reduce lead times, improve planning reliability, and minimize stock-related risks while still benefiting from economies of scale and consistent product availability.
Rulmeca Corporation was established in 2003 in Wilmington, North Carolina, with the initial objective of selling and providing after-sales services for Rulmeca motorized pulleys in the U.S. bulk material handling market. At the time of its foundation, production of all motorized pulleys was centralized in Aschersleben, Germany, with products being manufactured in Europe and distributed to the United States through established logistics channels.
In its early years, the company primarily focused on market development, customer support, and strengthening its distribution presence across the U.S. Over time, as demand increased and market requirements evolved, Rulmeca Corporation began to expand its local capabilities. This included the gradual increase of local inventory levels, as well as the introduction of selected in-house manufacturing activities for certain components, allowing for improved responsiveness and service efficiency.
As the business continued to grow, Rulmeca Corporation further diversified its product offering. Originally centered on motorized pulleys for bulk material handling, the company expanded into additional sectors, including unit handling applications and the food processing industry. This diversification supported a broader customer base and reinforced the company’s position within different segments of the material handling market.
Alongside product expansion, significant investments were made in production capabilities. The introduction of CNC machining technology enhanced precision and consistency in manufacturing processes, while the development of larger and more advanced facilities supported increased operational capacity. These improvements allowed the company to better meet growing demand while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
A major milestone in this development journey was the completion of the “Horizon Project” in 2023. This initiative significantly expanded local assembly capacity and introduced hot rubber lagging vulcanization, marking an important step forward in the company’s technical capabilities. The project further strengthened Rulmeca Corporation’s ability to support customers with more advanced, localized production and improved service responsiveness.
Overall, the period from 2003 to 2023 reflects a continuous trajectory of expansion, technical investment, and operational evolution, positioning Rulmeca Corporation as a more flexible and capable partner within the material handling industry.
