USA (Idlers, rollers and components)

Precismeca (Now known in Canada as Rulmeca) began operations in 1947 at Sulzbach, Germany, initially repairing, then manufacturing conveyor rolls for the underground coal and potash mines of the Saar region.  A sister company was established in Saverne, France in 1959, followed by manufacturing facilities in various countries around the world.

During this time, the product line expanded to include pulleys, motorized pulleys, structure and other conveyor related equipment.

Before 1975, Precismeca Germany and France supplied product to many North American customers such as Great Canadian Oil Sands (now Suncor), St. Lawrence Cement Company, Iron Ore Company, and Alwinsal Potash (now P.C.S. Lanigan).

In 1975, Precismeca Canada began production in Edmonton to supply all the initial idler requirements for the new Syncrude Tarsand mine in Northern Alberta.  Operations were moved in 1979 to a new plant in Nisku Industrial Park, near Edmonton.

In 2000, Rulmeca Group, a leading manufacturer of rollers/idlers and motorized pulleys based in Bergamo, Italy acquired Precismeca Limited in Canada, Germany and France. As a result of the acquisition, Precismeca Limited had expanded the network of new customers across the globe.  To increase capacity and improve customer service, the plant size was doubled in 2003.

In 2010, Precismeca Limited Canada relocated its production facility to South-Western Ontario into a 55,000 sq.ft state of the art building to take advantage of the proximity to raw material and the abundant supply of skilled workers.

In 2014, Precismeca Canada adopted the Rulmeca name, while maintaining the Precismeca brand and quality.

Rulmeca Canada, now manufacturing in Wallaceburg, Ontario, supplies replacement standard and custom designed conveyor idlers, motorized pulleys and structure to many customers and projects in North and South America.
