Description
Supply of more than 10,000 non-metallic HDPE rollers for replacing existing metal rollers; they will be installed on off-shore urea belt conveyors of GPIC Bahrain.
The existing Urea Handling Plant is a conveyors system for reception, stockpiling, reclaiming and shiploading; it consists of n. 16 belt conveyors, diverter gates, n.1 tripper, n. 1 portal reclaimer, n.1 shiploader, and it is part of the urea, ammonia and methanol production plant.
Conveyor capacity = 180 t/h for stacking, 1000 t/h for shiploading. The off-shore side of the plant consists of belt conveyors of total more than 3500 meter long, located on stills, so that the environment is very corrosive. Reasons of changing the rollers from metallic to non-metallic on the performance of the conveyors: - low level of abrasion and corrosion of the roller (wear resistant). - high resistance to chemical agents - self-cleaning roller surface.
Solution
Non-metallic HDPE3 rollers for replacing existing metal rollers Type of rollers: TOP/V1 20F 89PE/NPE, TOP/V2 25F 133PE/NPE. Material of construction of the roller: High Density Polyethylene HDPE in compliance with UL94-V2; 908 mm and 958 mm long rollers with reinforcing internal steel tube; the tube is provided in order to avoid a roller deformation under operation loads and temperature. Axle Material: zinc plated steel fine calibrated to guarantee the best fit with bearings Bearings 2RS type; bearing housing material: Homopolymer Acetal Resin (POM) Sealing provided by hermetic seals with Stone guard in POM, V ring rubber sliding lip seal, labyrinth & inner seal.
Benefit
- low level of abrasion and corrosion of the roller (wear resistant). - high resistance to chemical agents - self-cleaning roller surface.
